Executive Coaching Service
Helping Displaced Federal Workers and Contractors Transition into New Opportunities
The Executive Coaching Service is free of charge and will provide eligible residents with career navigation, resume refinement, coaching, interview support, and connections to employers who are looking for skilled talent.
Who is Eligible
To qualify to participate in the Executive Coaching Service, applicants must:
- Be a displaced federal worker or contractor who was laid off on or after January 24, 2025. Individuals with a future layoff date are not eligible until their actual layoff has occurred.
- Reside within the City of Alexandria and Arlington County service area.
- Complete the online application – Virginia Career Works Alexandria/Arlington Region will review and confirm eligibility.
How to Apply
Step 1: Complete the Application Form
Complete the Online Application. You will need to provide:
- Personal information, including contact details and residency verification
- Employment history, including confirmation of federal employment or contract work and layoff date
Step 2: Eligibility Review and Approval
Virginia Career Works Alexandria/Arlington Region will set-up a meeting with you to review your application to confirm eligibility. Applicants will be asked to submit the following supporting documents:

Once eligibility is confirmed, the applicant will use the remainder of the meeting to respond to program enrollment questions and complete other required information.
Step 3: Enrollment Confirmation and Service Start
Once enrollment is completed, the applicant will be referred to an Executive Coach to begin preparing for their next career opportunity!
